Job Description

Position Overview: The Accountant will be responsible for establishing and managing the full spectrum of accounting and financial activities for the company’s startup operations in Saudi Arabia. The role requires a highly experienced finance professional with strong knowledge of KSA accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory compliance, including ZATCA (GAZT), VAT, WHT, and Zakat. The ideal candidate will ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded, statutory obligations are met, and reporting aligns with both local requirements and Group Finance policies.Key Responsibilities:Set up and manage the accounting system and financial processes for KSA operations in coordination with the Group Finance team.Handle general accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, payables, receivables, and cash flow management.Prepare and submit VAT, Zakat, and Withholding Tax filings in accordance with ZATCA regulations.Ensure compliance with Saudi accounting and tax laws, maintaining updated knowledge of regulatory changes.Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and government agencies.Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.Maintain organized records of invoices, receipts, payroll, and contracts.Collaborate with the Qatar Head Office for consolidated reporting and audits.Provide recommendations to management for cost control and financial efficiency.Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; SOCPA or CPA certification preferred.Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in Saudi Arabia, preferably in a startup or multi-entity setup.Strong knowledge of KSA tax and financial regulations, including ZATCA, VAT, WHT, and Zakat.Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.Excellent understanding of IFRS and local reporting standards.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Fluency in Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking) is an advantage. High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.Working ConditionsBased in Riyadh, supporting day-to-day accounting and compliance requirements. Occasional coordination with external auditors, vendors, and government offices is expected.
