Job Description

The purpose of the role will be to manage a part of the finance function from source entries to Trial Balance for various African entities. with a focusing on supplier reconciliations between financial, operational, and external financial information.The role will oversee the financial control, ensuring all accounting entries are booked correctly in the General Ledger. as well as all reconciliations between financial, operational, and external financial information are performed.Responsibilities:Ensure the finance team is a strategic partner to the businessFull responsible for ensuring accurate financial record keepingResponsible to ensure accurate reconciliations between operational and accounting systems and balance sheet reconciliations for all suppliersSupporting the year-end, interim and all month-end processes and reportingResponsible for supporting FA during the external audit processProvide feedback and address audit pointsEnsure applicable policies and processes are created, documented, reviewed, signed off and adhered toDeveloping strategies to minimize financial riskSupport Financial Accountant in monitoring daily cash balances and determine cash requirements neededResponsible for providing direction and support on the organisational budgeting process applicable to all the entities of KorridorRegularly review the overall organisational expenditure to ensure the expenditure of all entities remain within budgetContinued analysis and review of current and new systemsReport on and resolve exceptions caused by system errorsAction requests from the FA as requestedQualifications and skills required:BCom Accounting Degree or equivalentMinimum 5 years of experience in a similar position if qualified or 8-10 years if not qualifiedPrevious experience in multinational company will be advantageousGood understanding of financial, tax and commercial legislation across multiple African territoriesExperience in Accounting Software and Payroll SoftwareAdvanced MS Excel skillsNumerical skillsMust be able to work independently as well as part of a teamAction orientation and Project managementAbility to motivate selfInterpersonal and relationship management skillsGood Time managementOrganisation and administration skillsPlanning and organising skillsDiagnostic, analytical & problem-solving skillsInformation integration & report writing skills - responsible for collating information for reporting purposesGood communication skills in English (written & verbal)Resilience: Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environmentFlexibility and adaptability
