This position performs complex reconciliations, system-to-system financial analysis, SABHRS transactions, internal control work, and financial problem-solving for District Courts, Youth Courts, and other branch programs.This role is ideal for candidates who are analytical, self-directed, comfortable working with multiple computer systems, and experienced in interpreting and applying fiscal policies. The position works independently while serving as a lead worker for other fiscal support staff and provides guidance to local court offices across the state.Job DutiesPerform complex financial reconciliations between statewide accounting systems, spreadsheets, and court program data.Analyze and research discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.Review and approve accounting transactions, deposits, vouchers, adjustments, and other financial entries.Process and monitor inter-unit journals, vendor payments, operating budgets, and other SABHRS-based transactions.Prepare financial reports, bank reconciliations, and year-end accounting adjustments for non-treasury cash accounts.Support internal controls, audit responses, policy interpretation, and quality assurance across fiscal operations.Provide fiscal guidance and support to district and youth courts; explain technical financial concepts clearly to non-fiscal staff.Serve as a lead worker for Financial Specialists and PIF Specialists, providing mentoring, coaching, and workload direction.Assist with payroll functions as needed, including auditing timesheets and resolving payroll exceptions.Manage multiple competing deadlines in a high-volume accounting environment.Working ConditionsWork is performed in a professional office setting and involves frequent use of computers, spreadsheets, statewide systems, and communication with local and statewide stakeholders. Occasional travel may be required.Minimum QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a closely related field; OR a combination of education and experience that demonstrates competency in accounting, reconciliation, and financial analysis.Experience performing accounting, fiscal, or business operations work involving reconciliations, coding, error research, or financial adjustments.Proficiency with financial or enterprise systems (e.g., SABHRS, PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, Banner, Workday, etc.).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Proficiency in Excel and ability to work with multiple software programs simultaneously.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.Experience with SABHRS or other large governmental/enterprise finance systems.Experience in government accounting, grants accounting, auditing, or internal controls.Experience training or supporting staff in financial processes.Applicant Pool Statement: If another department vacancy occurs in this job title within six months, the same applicant pool may be used for the selection.
