Bretts Timber & Hardware is a proudly Queensland-owned family business with more than a century of history supplying quality products and exceptional service to the building and construction industry.We are seeking a detail-driven and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance Team and help ensure the smooth and accurate flow of financial operations across the business.The JobAs an Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a key role in managing the timely, accurate, and efficient processing of supplier invoices and payments and staff expenses, in accordance with company policies, accounting standards, and legislative requirements.Working closely with suppliers, internal managers, and the broader Finance team, you’ll help maintain strong vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end processes.Skills & ExperienceWe’re looking for an Accounts Payable professional with excellent communication skills who prides themselves on accuracy, problem-solving, and service excellence.To be successful in this role, you will have:• 3+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role• Strong understanding of AP processes and accounting principles• Experience using accounting or ERP systems (OCR software knowledge highly regarded)• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Google Suite• A Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or Business (desirable)Benefits• Work with one of Queensland’s most established and respected industry leaders• Supportive team culture with opportunities for professional development• Stable, long-term employment• Competitive salary and great team environment• Staff Benefits, including discounts and birthday leave after a qualifying period• Free on-site parking• Flexible start dateIf you're ready to join a company that values accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement, we’d love to hear from you.
