We want people who want to make a difference for their team, our customers and the communities we create.If you’re ready to be part of something more than just a job, this is your moment.The OpportunityWe’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our dynamic Finance team in Melbourne.Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing Kokoda’s financial obligations- from processing invoices and ensuring timely payments to maintaining accurate records and building trusted relationships with suppliers.This is an opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of Kokoda’s financial processes, working closely with internal teams and external vendors to uphold the company’s standards of excellence, precision and integrity.About the RoleReceive, review and verify invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policiesManage the end-to-end invoice process — from obtaining approvals and coding through to processing and recharging invoices to other entitiesManage purchase orders and the workflow of purchase ordersPrepare and process vendor payments in line with company terms and schedulesReconcile supplier statements and resolve billing discrepancies promptlyProcess and monitor company credit card expenditure, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations.Assist with month-end and year-end closing proceduresEnsuring accurate and efficient processing of all accounts payable transactionsCollaborate with the wider Finance team to ensure reporting accuracy and efficiencyMaintain trust accounts and reconciliation on a monthly basisEnsure compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligationsAbout YouQualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is desirableProven experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role, preferably within a property or construction businessProven experience performing effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial processesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g. Xero, Approval Max, Dext)Excellent organisational and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage competing prioritiesClear communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindsetA team player who values collaboration, accuracy and continuous improvementWhy Join Us?At Kokoda, you’ll be part of a company that dares to do things differently.
