Overview: Our client is one of the longest-established real estate organizations in Barbados. Due to growth, they are seeking to employ a proven professional to add to the team. The focus of this role is to manage the Facility Management Accounting Team. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the workflow between the Facility Managers and the FM Accounts Team to ensure accurate and efficient accounting and maintenance of records for the clients of the Facility Management Department.Duties & Responsibilities:• Manage the quality and timeliness of reports being sent to clients.• Review reports submitted by the FM Accounting Assistants, provide guidance on issues in the reports and ensure compliance with correct accounting procedures.• Coordinate cash flow management for all entities in the service line including timely collection of receivables and payment of liabilities to avoid delinquency and reputation impairment.• Regular review AR/AP reports, focusing on overdue balances and soliciting feedback from FM Managers on any issues.• Lead the Accounting Assistants in the regular reviews of workbooks and schedules, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards and client requirements.• Be able to articulate the accounting process and possess in-depth knowledge of different clients’ requirements.• Address stakeholder concerns, queries, and suggestions in a professional manner.• Record all financial data (payables/receivables etc.) for your assigned entities.• Prepare and disburse funds to suppliers, record, and bank cash/cheques for any assigned portfolio.• Ensure that all accounting of any assigned portfolio is kept current and accurate in advance of deadlines.• Prepare monthly report suite as agreed with clients and provide in line with the reporting matrix deadlines.• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned clients and review those prepared by the Accounting Assistants.• Maintain a current filing system for all accounting information related to any assigned portfolio.• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with the auditors as needed.• Evaluate processes in place and recommend improvements for efficiency and effectiveness, where necessary. Implement suggested enhancements when approved.• Act as the liaison between Facility Managers and FM Accounting Assistants in addressing issues, fostering collaboration and resolution of any customer issues.• Lead, inspire, and facilitate team performance to ensure excellence in delivering results.• Identify the team's unique needs, recommend customized training solutions and actively coach team members to achieve peak performance.Requirements• Completion of Level 2 of an accredited accounting designation program, or other relevant qualification. • At least two years’ experience in a similar position.• Good working knowledge of QuickBooks is required.• Experience with services provision accounting.• Strong interpersonal skills.
