About the roleAs the Head of Flight Operations at Air Chathams, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the airline's operations. Based at Auckland Airport, this full-time position will see you leading a team responsible for all aspects of flight management, from scheduling and dispatch to regulatory compliance and safety oversight.
What you'll be doingOversee the planning and coordination of all flight operations, including crew scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and logistical supportEnsure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and industry standardsDevelop and implement policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and safetyCollaborate with key stakeholders, including air traffic control, airport authorities, and other airlines, to optimise flight operationsLead and motivate a team of experienced flight operations professionalsAnalyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous innovationRepresent the company at industry events and liaise with regulatory bodies as requiredMinimum Requirements:
Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL)Bachelor’s degree in aviation or a related fieldMinimum 5000 hours total flight time in Part 121/125 aircraftMinimum 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command in Part 121/125 aircraftPrevious aviation operational experience in a Part 121 or Part 125 airlineSufficient experience to meet Civil Aviation Rule Part 119 Appendix A requirements for Part 121 operationsFormal training in Safety Management Systems (SMS)What we offerSouthern Cross Healthcare Plan – ensuring your well-being is taken care of.
