Job Description

The Animatic Editor is the creative storyteller responsible for assembling digital files, dialogue, and sound into a cinematic experience that defines the visual rhythm, pacing, and emotional tone of each episode. The Animatic Editor works closely with the series Creative Leadership and Directors to shape the episodes and bring life to the story before production moves into layout and animation.ResponsibilitiesBuild and refine animatics from storyboards into dynamic narrative sequences, shaping timing, flow, and shot continuity.Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple episodes at the same time.Insert temp and final dialogue, temp sound effects, and temp music to bring together rhythm, comedic timing, and emotional pacing.Collaborate with Creative Leadership to explore variations, adjustments, and enhancements for storytelling clarityMaintain continuity and visual flow across all sequences and episodes.Proactively prepare animatics for reviews and screenings and address notes accurately following these meetings.Partner with Production, Editorial team, and Post team to coordinate file updates, audio sync, and version control.Work closely with Production to track deliverables and meet deadlines.Organize and maintain editorial databases and file structures, ensuring clarity and thoughtfulness.Assist with preparing materials and running screenings, reviews, and post sessions.Qualifications And SkillsMinimum 2 years of experience as an Animatic Editor.Strong understanding of story structure, comedic timing, and cinematic language.High degree of proficiency in AVID Media Composer.Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Confluence softwares preferred.Familiarity with importing, exporting, and managing materials for editorial.Self-motivated team player who can thrive in team environments as well as work independently.Close attention to detail and commitment to high quality work.EducationBachelor degree or equivalent work experienceThe pay rate for this role in Glendale, California is $66.40 to $73.04 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
