We make products for the data center, utility, industrial, commercial, machine building, residential, aerospace and mobility markets.What You’ll DoThe Sr. Application Engineer for TCP is executing the interface between customers and Eaton internal functions such as Sales & Marketing, PSM, and Product engineering with the market & application know-how, and high-level architect & value selling to the customers.This engineer is participating and collaborating engineering project team activities for the assigned programs and projects associated with Torque Control products (Mechanical Locking differentials, Electronic Locking differentials, Open differentials, Mechanical-LSD, Electric-LSD and other torque control products) development for EV and ICE vehicles.The role requires interactions with Eaton global engineering teams, Eaton manufacturing teams, and Customers by gathering and communicating the reliable and refined inputs like SOR and Package data etc. to release and get approvals for drawings, A/D matrix, Prototype samples, and DVP&R etc. from the customers by compromising any gaps and open items between Eaton and the Customers. Achieving the desired results will require individual contributions as well as contributions attained as part of a team. In this role you will collaborate with global team members located in the U.S., India, China, and other regions to engage in problem solving and product improvements.Additionally, the Engineer completes assigned projects and provides innovative suggestions and recommendations for new projects based upon technical knowledge and practical knowledge of divisional needs and strategic directions. Interfacing between Customers and Eaton internal functions such as Sales & Marketing, PSM, and Product engineering to propose the proper and best products for customers' applications by complying with the pursuit process.Coordinating the reliable and refined inputs and requirements like SOR, package data, Duty cycles, and tests.Acquiring the approvals for 3D package, drawings, A/D matrix, DVP&R etc. from the Customers by collaborating with Eaton teams.Collaborating to deliver the prototype samples to the customers and successfully complete the tests in Eaton and Customers.Resolving and compromising any gaps and open items between Customers and Eaton.Understanding and interpreting Tests and Analysis results to identify problems, make change recommendations and make product/system improvements by interacting between Customers and Eaton.Learning and applying technical skills related to mechanical and electrical systems to understand customers’ systems and supporting new product development engineering activities.Staying abreast of latest industry trends and VOC by incorporating latest technologies into the product development process.Participating in customers activities to demonstrate product technology and engineering capabilities toward earning new business.Building up good relationships with the Customers and Eaton global teams.Practicing consistency across pursuit, product designs, processes, tests, and practices. Documents improvements to the engineering standard work processes used to engineer our products.Apply an adequate level of computer literacy in the areas of engineering systems software, graphics, presentations, and multimedia. Shares knowledge in computer skills.Comply with the policies, procedures, and expectations outlined by Eaton’s Management System for the Environment, Safety, Security, and Health (MESH) and Quality Management System. QualificationsBS degree or above in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.5 ~ 10 years of related work experience in Automotive industry.Knowledge in driveline engineering (Powertrain products or Torque related product’s function and requirement would be better, like experiences in Differential, Axle, EV etc.)Must understand product development process and business system like APQP(PROLaunch)CREO, Auto CAD, CATIA, MS Office etc.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.At Eaton, we don’t just want to offer you a job, but a journey and experience.
