Job Description

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa, you must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.As a Population Health Apprentice you will work in partnership to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities. You will also support the planning, delivery and evaluation of public health initiatives, which will include a focus on improving oral health.To work as a member of the Strategy and Transformation team, to co-ordinate in the delivery of public health improvement activities in line with our recently approved Trust strategy. You will work in specified areas of public health and across portfolio areas in line with the learning on the degree programme and population need.To engage fully in the apprenticeship programme, ensuring that every effort is made to attend all taught and remote sessions, scheduled assessor visits and that work is submitted in line with target dates set. To contribute to the assessment of population health needs and to the planning or commissioning of interventions to meet those needs and support the delivery of UHNM’s population health and wellbeing strategy. To promote population and community health and wellbeing, addressing the wider determinants of health and health inequalities. To audit and evaluate programmes/projects and contribute to the redesign of services and interventions to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities. Be able to review the evidence base for the most effective practice and the delivery of value for money in public health. To promote ethical practice and demonstrate an understanding of the ethical dilemmas faced when promoting population health & reducing health inequalities. To contribute to the review and design of policies and strategies to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities.University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country.
