Arts & Media Tutor

​ ​ ​​​Contract Type: Variable Hours - CasualLocation: Teesside, Teesside International Study CentreSalary: up to £38.27 per annumYou will work with colleagues across the Centre to ensure the effective delivery of teaching programmes in line with our teaching, learning and assessment strategy, broader scholarship and aims for an outstanding student experience. You will also contribute directly to student support and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the UKE Centre. As a tutor, you will contribute to the design, development and production of teaching and learning materials, across a range of programmes at various RQF levels.ABOUT THE ROLEContribute to the design, delivery and development of Arts & Media modules offered across the UKE networkPrepare and deliver teaching lectures, seminars, and tutorial sessions, up to 18 hours per weekWrite and prepare unit examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessmentMark students’ formative and summative assessment submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance, including tutorials and writing regular student reportsDevelop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions, including module material for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)Work with the Centre’s administration team to plan and deliver induction, orientation, and registration programmesNotify and liaise with colleagues, where necessary, to ensure all students receive appropriate on-going welfare and progression supportTrack students’ academic journey and identify and implement appropriate intervention strategies to support on-going learningImplement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of coursesMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of students’ attendance and performanceAttend and contribute to standardisation, moderation, and other quality assurance meetings, where relevant. Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff contributing to the effective overall management of the programme and student life cycleParticipate in the Provider governance structure, as required throughout the academic cycle; and attend all compulsory team meetingsMaintain and submit accurate and timely records of teaching and other activitiesParticipate in regular training and development activities and maintain a log of these activitiesCarry out any other duty as required from time to time by the relevant line managerABOUT YOU  Experience of or a commitment to working with international studentsA relevant Arts or Media degree and / or significant relevant teaching or industry experienceRelevant Teaching Qualification, or willingness to work towardsFluent spoken and written EnglishExperience of teaching relevant subject modules in the UK education sectorExperience of Safeguarding procedures within educationEvidence of the ability to teach either:Media Specialist: Creative Media and Media Practice & Process to a high standardArt Specialist: Introduction to 2D Digital Art and Introduction to Drawing, and Creativity & Design to a high standardExperience of working with international studentsAbility to develop and update teaching material and preferably experience of working within a Virtual Learning EnvironmentCompetence in teaching and administrative IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail)A student-centred approachA commitment to continuous professional developmentStrong record-keeping skillsFlexibility and willingness to work under pressure to deadlinesEnthusiasm and motivation to be a performance-driven team playerInnovation and creativity in developing and executing student enhancement activitiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsABOUT USStudy Group is a leading international education provider that is dedicated and passionate about helping students around the world, creating a brighter future and reaching their full potential.
