The Tsui Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Asset Renewal Office Engineer to join our aviation team in Los Angeles County. The Asset Renewal Office Engineer will oversee the administrative processes and construction requirements of multiple small projects at the same time. The Asset Renewal Program replaces end-of-life airport assets, primarily MEP fire and security systems, vertical and horizontal transportation systems, building enclosure assemblies, below-grade utility systems, baggage systems, and passenger boarding bridges.Essential Job Duties:Experience with the design and construction industries, administrative processes and requirementsMust have experience with payment applications, including quantity dispute resolutionMust have excellent skills in documentation and file organization and maintenanceExperience reviewing and responding to RFI'SExperience reviewing submittals for compliance with the Contract Documents andExperience and proficient in reading design drawings and specificationsAble to communicate and interact with the other members of the Asset Renewal team and LAWA departments, City Dept.'s., contractors and AirlinesAvailable to work modified schedule as construction activities requireExperience with starting up a project and on boarding the contractor or design-buildersExperience closing out projects, including: operations and maintenance manuals, payment releases, punch-list documentation and closeout, final pay applications, warranty and training requirements, etcMay be called upon to take meeting-minutes and distribute to attendeesSupport the Construction Manager and Program Manager in other tasks and dutiesExperience constructing work on an occupied and operating campusCoordinate and implement Area Shutdown Requests (ASR's), and Utility Shutdown Requests (USR's)Should have experience working on phased and complex Public Agency projects in an occupied settingMay assume other duties as required/needed May work overtimeMaybe required to work various shifts as neededAviation experience preferred RequirementsProfessional Experience Level/Other Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in managing the design of small and medium complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably on airport projectsExperience with projects more than $25 million in valueExperience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build and Design/BuildExcellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulationsMust have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilitiesMust be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgroundsMust be detail oriented and highly organizedEducation/Training:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related industry experienceHardware/Software Knowledge: Excellent knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
