About the OrganizationOur client is a Leading Public Listed Company (PLC) and a highly respected name in the Sri Lankan logistics sector, specializing in end-to-end supply chain solutions, including comprehensive Third-Party Logistics (3PL) and global Freight Forwarding services. We are looking for an ambitious professional to support the commercial growth of our international cargo services.Role SummaryThe Sales & Marketing Assistant Manager will play a critical support role in driving the commercial success of the Freight Forwarding division. This position involves direct assistance in B2B sales activities, managing key client proposals, executing tactical marketing campaigns, and providing market intelligence crucial for securing sea, air, and project cargo business.Key Responsibilities1. Sales Support & Business Development AssistanceProposal Development: Assist the Senior Sales team in preparing comprehensive, professional, and client-specific proposals, tenders, and presentations for international freight (Sea & Air) and integrated 3PL solutions.Client Relationship Support: Coordinate internal resources (Operations, Pricing, Documentation) to ensure smooth execution of client onboarding and service delivery.Target Monitoring: Track and analyze the sales pipeline, monitoring progress against monthly and quarterly revenue targets for the freight forwarding team.Market Intelligence: Conduct deep dives into market trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and emerging trade lanes to identify new business opportunities.2. Marketing & Brand ManagementCampaign Execution: Execute targeted marketing campaigns (digital and traditional) designed to promote the company's core services: Freight Forwarding (Ocean & Air), Customs Brokerage, and Project Cargo Management.Content Management: Develop and manage commercial content, including case studies, service flyers, and digital media updates focused on logistics value propositions.Digital Presence: Assist in managing the company's digital marketing channels (website content, professional networking platforms) to enhance brand visibility within the B2B logistics community.Events & PR: Coordinate participation in industry trade events, seminars, and client-focused promotional activities.3. Pricing and ReportingRate Analysis: Support the pricing desk in benchmarking freight rates and developing competitive commercial offers for strategic accounts.CRM Management: Ensure all client data, sales activities, and marketing campaign outcomes are accurately logged and maintained in the CRM system.Performance Reporting: Generate and analyze detailed Sales & Marketing performance reports, presenting key metrics, ROI on marketing spend, and lead conversion rates to the Management team.RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 4-10 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Commercial Support within the Freight Forwarding, Shipping, or 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) industry is highly preferred.Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Supply Chain, or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., CIM, SLIM) are a significant advantage.Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong analytical abilities, high proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and familiarity with CRM systems and digital marketing tools.Attributes: Proactive, commercially focused, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
