Job Description

The Associate - Credit Risk Analyst is an entry-level role supporting day-to-day credit risk management activities for MoMo’s PayLater products. The role focuses on data analysis, risk monitoring, underwriting and collections operations support under the guidance of the Team Leader. This position is suitable for candidates who are analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn about digital lending, credit risk, and data-driven decision-making.What You Will DoThe responsibilities below represent a range of tasks within the Credit Risk team. Actual assignments will depend on business priorities and the candidate’s skill level.A. Risk Monitoring & ReportingPerform daily and weekly monitoring of key portfolio metrics: disbursement, usage, repayment, delinquency, revenue, and credit losses.Track the performance of risk rules, limit policies, and underwriting cutoffs.Prepare standardized reports and dashboards for internal teams and partner banks.B. Data Analysis & InvestigationConduct targeted analyses on user behavior, risk segments, and repayment patterns.Support investigations into abnormal or suspicious activities involving transactions, users, or merchants.Use SQL to extract, clean, and validate data for analysis and reporting.C. Underwriting Operations SupportSupport the execution of offer policies, limit matrices, and other risk rules.Validate score outputs, eligibility flags, and risk settings before and after deployment.Assist in running A/B tests and documenting the impact of credit policy changes.D. Merchant Risk Management SupportMonitor merchant-level signals, including GMV trends and unusual transaction patterns.Prepare summaries and recommendations for merchant control actions.E. Collections & Partner SupportSupport monthly performance monitoring for banking and collection partners.Track basic KPIs such as contactability, repayment, and recovery rates.Assist in preparing and validating data files or insights shared with partners.F. Documentation & Process ExecutionPrepare concise internal notes, summaries, memos, and SOPs under guidance.Maintain documentation of policy updates, risk interventions, and experiment results.Follow established risk processes with accuracy and attention to detail.G. Cross-functional CollaborationCoordinate with Product, AI/Modeling, Merchant, Operations, and external partners on data requests, investigations, and operational tasks.Communicate clearly through Slack, email, and comments, and escalate issues promptly when needed.What You Will NeedA. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Data, or a related field.B. Technical SkillsBasic to intermediate SQL for data extraction and validation.Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with Python is a plus.Basic understanding of credit or financial risk concepts is an advantage.Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and internal systems.C. Soft SkillsStrong analytical thinking and attention to detail.Clear written communication and good documentation habits.High sense of ownership and discipline in following processes.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.D.
