It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time.Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.Job SummaryThe Business Development Associate plays a key role in driving firm-level sales growth by activating partners, building wallet share, and supporting the smooth execution of sales campaigns across assigned Financial Advisory (FA) firms. The role involves day-to-day engagement, product and platform support, and timely follow-through across different distribution lines to help the team meet both net sales and APE targets.To succeed in this role, you should be proactive, motivated, and comfortable working with FA firms. Strong relationship-building skills, solid product knowledge, and confidence in delivering presentations or product trainings will be important. Experience in investments and familiarity with Singapore’s FA landscape will be an advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with partner firms, building trust and credibility while actively expanding engagement across new accounts and segments.Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market insights, partner interactions, and proactive outreach to drive growth across all distribution lines.Support and deliver presentations and product trainings, communicating solutions, platform features, and value propositions with clarity and confidence.Manage and progress sales pipelines, ensuring timely follow-ups, conversion of opportunities, and strong visibility on partner activity.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address partner needs and ensure smooth execution of business development initiatives.Monitor partner and channel performance, interpreting trends and surface insights to support planning, prioritization, and strategic decision-making.Prepare regular updates and reports that provide visibility on pipeline movement, engagement activities, and key opportunities.Support end-to-end business development activities, ensuring a seamless experience for partners from initial engagement through ongoing servicing.Requirements:Minimum 2 years of experience in the investment or insurance industry.Strong understanding of life and health insurance, and investment products.A proven track record in managing advisors and sales processes.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.A recognized university degree, or at least a GCE A-Level or Diploma with relevant professional insurance qualifications.
