Overview The Associate Editor plays a key role in driving Campaign Asia-Pacific’s coverage of advertising, marketing, and media trends across the region. This role is responsible for producing high-quality editorial content across all platforms such as website, social media, newsletters, podcasts, video, and live events and for helping shape the publication’s voice, standards, and agenda.The Associate Editor is a senior member of the editorial team and is expected to demonstrate strong editorial judgment, high-quality writing and editing, and proactive leadership. The role reports to the Editor, Campaign Asia-Pacific. The opening is in Singapore. Overall responsibilities:Work with Campaign’s editor to develop and publish at least five pieces of content (articles/videos/podcasts/video posts) for Campaign across all media platforms each week. At least one of these should be a lead-worthy in-depth feature. Deliver at least one in-depth, lead-worthy feature per week.Plan and execute weekly content features and larger recurring editorial projects.Assist the editor in copyediting and quality-checking content from other team members when required.Support and contribute to major editorial projects such as Power List, Agency Report Card, 40Under40, Women to Watch or any upcoming new projectsLead short-form video experimentation for the website or Campaign’s social channels. Monitor digital engagement rates and work with the Editor and Editorial Director to increase known audience engagement rates on Campaign Asia content as mandated.Attend and report on Haymarket and industry events throughout the region as required.Moderate roundtables, panel discussions and client events as neededMaintain strong relationships with editorial teams across the region as well as with other Haymarket departments (eg, design, marketing, Content Lab, events)Additional responsibilities may include:Step in to manage daily news bulletins and make editorial decisions in the absence of senior editors.Undertake special projects to support workload distribution and free up editorial leadership time when required.Essential skills & experience5-8 years of journalism or editorial experience in the media or publishing industry.Exceptional writing and editing skills; ability to switch between news, long-form features, and multimedia scripts.Understanding of the APAC advertising, marketing, and media landscape and trends. Ability to thrive under deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple assignments.Proficiency with CMS platforms, social media publishing, analytics, and digital storytelling.Strong team collaborator with the ability to work cross-functionally while maintaining editorial independence.Mandarin language skills are an advantage.Desirable skillsExperience reporting on or editing stories related to agencies, brands, campaigns, media, or marcomms in Asia.Competency in multimedia formats such as video editing, audio/podcast production. Experience mentoring or guiding junior reporters or freelancers.
