Trust Payments has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Underwriting Officer to join their team.Location: Hybrid - Port City, Colombo, Sri LankaSalary: Competitive + BenefitsWorking hours - UK working hours (1.30 PM IST - 10.00 PM IST) How will you make an impact in this role?The Role:The Underwriting Specialist Officer will be required to undertake underwriting of prospective as well as existing customers, assess the business model of applicants and conduct compliance and credit checks to ensure adherence to Company and card scheme policies and regulations. The role will be part of a team of underwriters, working closely with colleagues to ensure optimum customer service. The candidate will communicate with internal company departments, as well as management and offer assistance on risk related matters.What We Expect of You, Day To Day:Conducting identity checks (KYC – Know your customer), AML, identifying and locating, credit score analysis, and full product and website reviewFollowing underwriting standards, company policies, and best practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiencyConducting compliance and credit checks and analysisMeeting all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are fulfilledReviewing legal documentationEnsuring adherence to company and card scheme rules and policiesCalculating financial risk exposure and relevant risk mitigation measuresCollaborating with the Risk Department to agree on risk and remittance terms for high-risk merchantsContributing to process improvements and sharing best practiceBuilding strong partnerships with other teams such as the Business Relations teamQualificationsAnalytical skills to identify and assess potential fraud and compliance issuesWorking knowledge of compliance regulationsExperience in financial credit risk assessmentSkills in risk assessment and the ability to escalate appropriatelyAbility to prioritise effectively to ensure timely goal achievementStrong communication and decision-making skillsAttention to detailAnalytical and investigative skillsExperience in creditUnderstanding of card schemesWe offer comprehensive benefits to support our team members and their families' well-being.
