About the CompanyCREGG is currently looking for an Automation Engineer on a permanent basis for an SI in Cork and Dublin. This is a great opportunity for someone to work on numerous projects in a fast-paced industry. This role requires a Valid EU/Irish work permit.About the RoleWorking with a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers, managing and delivering projects to customer sites.ResponsibilitiesDesign and coding of industrial process automation solutions on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)Production of I/O schedulesPreparation of Functional Design specificationsDesign and configuration of user interface systems for industrial control (HMI/SCADA)Design of control panels and creation of panel wiring schematicsCommissioning of control systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioning of automation systemsFault finding of control systems (PLC, HMI/SCADA, Communication Networks etc.)Providing design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated systemsWorking closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technologyProviding technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departmentsMentoring and training of graduate/junior engineersQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related fieldRequired Skills3+ years’ automation engineering experiencePLC Programming Experience: Siemens/ RockwellHMI / SCADA Experience: Siemens / Rockwell/ AVEVA / SchneiderKnowledge of process instrumentation and wiringExperience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet)A Valid EU/Irish work permit
