The Business Analyst (Alberta) is responsible for planning, designing, developing and implementing operational business solutions for First Canadian Financial Group. This role pays a key part in optimizing business processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.The hours of work for this position will be 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Thursday and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Friday.Essential ResponsibilitiesEvaluate business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, document & communicate business requirements, and implement initiatives.Monitor project progress by tracking activity; overcome obstacles related to projects; publish progress reports; recommend actions.Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.Perform user acceptance testing and quality assurance on software related enhancements. Effectively communicate issues and progress.Develop solution documentation, training documentation, support documentation, functional and technical specifications and other relevant document sets for support of their respective solutions.As required, deliver training on processes & systems to various individuals and business groups.Ensure all work and deliverables adhere to relevant business and IT security standards, governance policies, and regulatory requirements.Research, learn and adapt new technologies, relevant industry standards and best practices.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent dimploma in industrial/systems engineering, computing science/technology, or a related field is required.Minimum of 5+ years as a Business Analyst preferably in the automotive and/or insurance industry is required.Proven ability in people management and change management to drive a high performing culture is required/an asset.Certification in business analysis, project management, and relevant application software.Cyber security awareness.Ability to produce standards based business process diagrams along with functional and technical specifications based on customer requirements.Experience managing projects from vision setting through implementation..Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) is required.Fluent in English with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is required.Fluent in French with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is an asset.Experience developing and delivering high quality written and oral communications.Thank you for considering our organization.If you are bilingual there will be a French and English assessment as a part of the recruitment process.We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons.
