LawsonSt. Joseph's Hospital - London, ONTemporary Full TimeSalary Range: $26.01 - $32.51 /hourTemporary Full-Time position anticipated to extend until January 5, 2027 (with potential for renewal) and is subject to the availability of work.The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr. Tamara Spaic and Dr. Selina Liu in the role of Research Assistant 1. This position will assist the Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism in support of clinical research studies in diabetes and endocrinology at St. Joseph's Hospital.ResponsibilitiesThe Research Assistant 1 is responsible for the organization, administration and coordination of assigned clinical research tasks and completion of documentation to ensure the quality and integrity of the study data. The successful candidate will: Provide data collection and entry support and database management Assist with grant and Research Ethics Board applications and manuscript submissions Support various research study activities including meeting organization, onboarding of research trainees, and research team coordination Liaise with patients, physicians and healthcare workers Assist with study participant recruitment Maintain GCP standards in the management of clinical trial documentationEssential QualificationsBachelor's degree in health-related field is preferred however equivalent qualification/ work experience will be consideredRequires excellent interpersonal, supervisory and planning skills to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and have the ability to deal with confidential mattersExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to effectively communicate general and medical information both verbally and in writing at all levelsAbility to work independently and make decisions.Good judgement, initiative, tact and professional attitude in the workplaceAdaptable, flexible and resourceful. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesExcellent organizational skillsComputer skills that include Microsoft Office and Office 365Preferred QualificationsExperience working in an academic/research environmentDemonstrated ability to work in a team settingTraining in ICH/GCP guidelinesFamiliarity with LHRI policies and procedures is an assetFamiliarity with Lawson Research submissions (ReDA, LORA) and with Western Health Sciences Research Ethics Board (WREM) submissions is an assetFamiliarity with REDCap is an assetImmunization RequirementsProvide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
