As the regional business developer, you have a keen eye for identifying emerging market trends in East Africa and translating these into actionable insights for Agriterra, our donors, cooperatives, and partners. You will collaborate with the global business development team to capitalise on learnings and sustain Agriterra’s institutional image. You will report to the Regional Manager East Africa.‍Tasks and ResponsibilitiesProposal Development> Write high-quality project proposals for Agriterra East Africa, with specific emphasis on rural and cooperative development, in the areas of food security, private sector development and climate action.Logical Frameworks and Results Design> Develop coherent and pragmatic logical frameworks and results chains that seamlessly align with proposal budgets and narratives in your region.Business Development Coordination> Coordinate business development processes with diverse teams in your region, engaging both internal and external stakeholders.Partnership and Value Proposition Enhancement> Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to continuously strengthen Agriterra's value proposition and enhance complementarity with key partners in East Africa.Strategy Development and Implementation> Together with the Regional Manager, continue to update the Business Development Strategy and its implementation, taking into account external developments and best practices.Capacity Building and Team Support>Actively inform, motivate, train and country teams in your region to continuously identifying opportunities, pursuing acquisitions, developing proposals and budgets in accordance with internal policies, procedures and external requirements.Donor and Stakeholder Relationship Management> Build, maintain and oversee key donor relationships, while leading and supporting the expansion of Agriterra’s strategic relationships across sectors and countries in East Africa.Pipeline Development > Pipeline development, high-quality analysis, monitoring and reporting and ensuring effective collection and reporting of management information on market and business development.Visibility and Positioning> Increase the visibility of Agriterra in East Africa, together with the Marketing & Communications colleagues.‍What do you bringEducation & Qualifications> Master’s degree in Development, Agribusiness, or a relevant field.Experience> Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on business (proposal) development and acquisition in East Africa.Sector Knowledge> Good knowledge and understanding of international development and institutional donor networks, with demonstrable affinity for the area in which Agriterra works.Communication & Interpersonal Skills> Fluent in English (oral and written).> Proven ability to maintain strategic oversight, combined with strong organisational, listening, communication, and negotiation skills.> Required competences: proven excellence in active listening, strategic communication, and persuasive proposal writing.Other Requirements> Able to thrive under pressure, managing frequent deadlines and ambitious targets.
