Business Development Executive

Salt & Associates (“Salt”), a leading full-service regional law firm operating across the MENA region, is seeking to hire a Business Development professional specialised in legal services and proposal/bid writing to support the firm’s growth strategy.Position: Business Development Executive / Manager – Legal & ProposalsLocation: Baghdad or Remote (with regional exposure)Availability: ImmediateRole OverviewThe successful candidate will support the firm’s business development efforts with a core focus on client acquisition, proposal drafting, and legal bid submissions. Key responsibilities include:Developing new client opportunities across legal practice areas.Preparing and drafting proposals, RFP responses, tenders, and legal bids, ensuring compliance with submission requirements and firm standards.Conducting legal industry market research and competitor benchmarking.Supporting rankings/submissions (Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, IFLR).Coordinating with Partners and legal teams to align BD strategy with legal services.Managing client engagement materials, capability statements, and marketing collateral.Supporting legal events, conferences, and strategic partnership initiatives.Candidate ProfileBachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Marketing, or related field.2–4 years of proven BD experience within a law firm or legal consultancy, including proposal and bid writing.Strong understanding of legal terminology, legal service delivery models, and client expectations.Excellent drafting and presentation skills in English.Strategic mindset, commercial awareness, and ability to work under deadlines.High standards of professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail.What We OfferCompetitive compensation package with performance incentives.Direct exposure to high-profile legal mandates and cross-border engagements.Opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and legal experts.Professional development within one of Iraq’s fastest-growing law firms.
