Business Development Officer – Microfinance / Consumer Lending Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State Employment Type: Full-Time  Department: Sales & Business DevelopmentAbout the CompanyA reputable and rapidly growing Finance Company providing innovative, technology-driven lending solutions to individuals and SMEs is seeking a Business Development Officer (BDO) to join its expanding team.If you are passionate about finance, business growth, and relationship-driven sales, this is your opportunity to make an impact.Job SummaryThe Business Development Officer will lead business growth initiatives, identify new opportunities, and build lasting client relationships within the SME and consumer lending segments.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microfinance or consumer lending, with hands-on experience in KYC compliance, credit processes, and strategic sales execution.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement business development and sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.Conduct market research and financial analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.Manage the full loan sales cycle — from lead generation and client onboarding to disbursement and relationship management.Ensure strict adherence to KYC, credit, and regulatory standards in all transactions.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage loyalty, retention, and referrals.Collaborate with Credit, Risk, and Operations teams to ensure seamless loan processing and service delivery.Monitor repayment performance, analyze client behavior, and recommend improvement strategies.Prepare periodic reports and performance analytics for management review.Drive field marketing campaigns and partnership programs to boost brand visibility and market reach.Contribute ideas and feedback for continuous product and process improvement.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related field.Minimum of 4 years’ experience in business development, lending, or financial sales within a microfinance or consumer finance organization.Strong knowledge of credit analysis, KYC compliance, and financial reporting.Proven record of achieving and exceeding revenue or loan portfolio targets.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical, quantitative, and presentation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM systems or loan management platforms.Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: ₦180,000 – ₦300,000 (based on experience)  Transport & Airtime Allowance Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)  Performance-Based Incentives  Continuous Career Growth & Professional DevelopmentHow to ApplyInterested and qualified candidates should send their CVs to:  recruitment@stunnaconsults.com.ng using the subject line “Business Development Officer.”
