The Buyer shall be responsible to meet the needs of the clients and the various divisions, at the lowest prices consistent with quality standards on a timely basis.MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure all applicable company policies are adhered to while maintaining a high level of customer service to all divisionsKeep updated with the Ministry of Public and Business Services Delivery (MPBSD) ensuring all government policies, guidelines, and interim measures are followedCoordinate and implement the complete purchase process in accordance with the prescribed requirements including preparation and solicitation of bids, evaluation of submissions received, communication with the supplier through a written purchase order, monitoring the relationship with supplier(s), etcConsider all aspects of purchase decisions including pricing, payment terms, delivery, quality, safe transportation of the materials, and other financial and non-financial implications to determine the best value for moneyImplement strategic contract sourcing of inventory by analyzing spend data analysis while working closely with the Public Procurement Department to launch open competitive procurementsMonitor vendor selection and creationMeet with vendors to ensure understanding of market trends, issues and availability of new products and servicesPerform periodic vendor performance evaluationsFollow all proper procurement processes relating to contracts, purchasing agreements and Ministry Vendors of Record (VOR)Work closely with vendors to coordinate freight and deliveries of goodsPrepare and coordinate documentation for customs clearance, shipping and logisticsInvestigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, quality issues and other shipping claimsMonitor inventory at various stores locations, ensuring min/max levels meet operational requirements; managing duplicates and new inventory as requiredWork closely with the Stores Supervisor, Inventory and Warehouse Manager and stores stock keepers to analyze and improve inventory levels, cycle and lead times and inventory turnoverRecommend appropriate inventory management methodsInvestigate and review purchase card transactions that relate to shop supplies ensuring alignment with stores inventoryReview slow moving inventory (SMI), identifying surplus or obsolete items, make recommendations for sale or disposition of SMIAdapt to new systems, processes and technologies that are implementedREQUIREMENTS:Two-year College Diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, or equivalentAmerican Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP_ Designation preferred2-3 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Logistics and Inventory ManagementPrior experience within a parts and service warehousing environmentProven ability to adhere to procurement limits and policiesExperience in Customer ServiceStrong communications skillsEffective problem-solving skillsAbility to negotiate and make decisions under pressureStrong computer skills (MS office)Occasional travel is requiredBACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: The successful candidate will need to pass the following clearances: criminal record check, employment references and education verification.CLOSING DATE: December 8, 2025, no later than 11:59 p.m. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
