Buyer Planner

Production Equipment Europe is a leading industrial distributor supplying over 90,000 products to customers nationwide.We are looking for an individual to join our purchasing team to manage procurement, material requirements planning, product life cycle & obsolescence. Build supplier relationships and understands warehouse space utilization. Familiar with latest supply chain processes and willing to engage in a fast moving and professionally rewarding career.Key ResponsibilitiesProcessing and managing purchase orders on a daily basisDeveloping and maintaining long relationships with vendorsReviewing minimum stock holdings against average sales analysisEnsuring continuous supply and optimum levels of inventoryManaging and reducing excess inventory levels in order to help improve warehouse space utilizationWorking to agreed time scales and deadlinesWorking with the TL on the onboarding and training of all new hires in relevant processes where directed by the TL. Participation in cost reduction activitiesDelivering both high quality and cost-effective solutionsManaging vendor performance and ensuring alignment with inhouse quality systemsDepartmental administration dutiesAnalyse and resolve purchasing issues and discrepancies Skills & Experience3 years plus planning / procurement experienceDegree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or related area is preferableStrong organisational and administration skills Excellent negotiation skillsGood computer skills (MS Office), SAP or other ERP system experience highly desirableFlexible and pro-active attitude with a desire for excellenceAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced distribution environmentExcellent attention to detail
