JOB TITLE: Career Prep Student - Innovation & Equity DepartmentREPORTS TO: Chief of Innovation & EquityWAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt / Part-timePrimary PurposeThe Career Prep Student assists the Innovation & Equity department.Spring ISD employees are expected to act with integrity, support and demonstrate our corevalues, communicate in a clear and respectful manner and seek to continuously improve self-performance and processes.QualificationsRequiredSpring ISD Junior or Senior High School StudentPreferredMedia Tech, Graphic Design or Business Management Pathway StudentSpecial Knowledge/SkillsSkills to operate standard office equipmentUse English in both written and verbal formsUse correct spelling, grammar and punctuationPerform basic arithmetic calculationsAbility to file accuratelyMajor Responsibilities And DutiesAssist the Innovation & Equity staff with daily proceduresDesigningSort and deliver mailAssist with data entry and filingScan and record-keepingHelp with setting up eventsEnsure office supplies are maintainedEnsure timely and proper shredding of sensitive materialAnswer phone, mail and assist requested informationMust work a minimum of 15 hours per weekOther duties as assignedWorking/Special ConditionsThis position requires a person that is able to maintain emotional control under stress. The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. The job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of the computer.Duties performed require considerable initiative and tact. The position requires leadershipqualities such as: adaptability, flexibility, dependability and accountability.
