The platform promotes inclusion, efficiency, integrity, and growth in Africa’s financial services sector.NPC is seeking a visionary, tech-forward CEO to accelerate adoption, lead regional expansion, and position the company as Africa’s most innovative regulated digital finance hub.JOB SUMMARYThe CEO will provide overall strategic leadership, regulatory stewardship, operational oversight, and ecosystem expansion for Nairobi Pesa City. This role requires a leader with deep expertise in financial markets, digital payments, regulatory compliance, and digital-asset ecosystems.The CEO will spearhead market growth, platform reliability, product innovation, partner engagement, and commercial sustainability—while building trust with regulators, investors, and global partners. They will lead a high-performing executive team, oversee marketplace safety and compliance, and drive the next phase of NPC’s transformation as Africa’s premier digital financial exchange.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.   Strategic LeadershipDefine and execute NPC’s long-term vision and multi-year growth strategy.Drive innovation across the digital finance, payments, and digital-asset ecosystem.Lead expansion into new African and global markets.Translate strategic objectives into operational excellence across all business units.2.   Regulatory & Compliance StewardshipMaintain full compliance with all regulatory bodies (CBK, CMA, NIFCA, Data Protection Office, etc.).Build transparent and trusted relationships with regulators and policy institutions.Oversee licensing, audits, risk assessments, and adherence to regulatory frameworks.Strengthen AML/CFT, consumer-protection, and cybersecurity compliance.3.   Ecosystem Development & PartnershipsBuild and scale NPC’s marketplace by onboarding financial institutions, fintechs, asset managers, PSPs, and digital-asset providers.Forge strategic alliances with banks, global financial infrastructure providers, technology firms, and government agencies.Lead vendor and partner acquisition to grow platform liquidity and marketplace value.Represent NPC at industry forums, conferences, and investor roadshows.4.   Financial Performance & Commercial GrowthOversee P&L performance, revenue growth, cost optimization, and long-term financial sustainability.Drive monetization strategies including listing fees, exchange fees, platform usage fees, and value-added services.Provide accurate, timely financial reports to the Board and key stakeholders.Lead capital-raising efforts where necessary and engage investors on performance.5.   Market Development & Customer AcquisitionDrive user growth across individuals, SMEs, corporates, financial institutions, and digital-asset participants.Oversee marketing, brand positioning, and ecosystem awareness campaigns.Lead initiatives to grow transaction volumes and product adoption.6.   Operations, Technology & Platform IntegrityOversee architecture, scalability, security, and interoperability of the digital exchange platform.Strengthen operational efficiency, marketplace integrity, and platform resilience.Supervise technology teams in product development, cybersecurity, system uptime, and customer experience.Ensure business continuity planning (BCP), disaster recovery, and operational risk controls.7.   People & Culture LeadershipBuild, mentor, and retain a high-performing executive team across operations, technology, risk, finance, legal, and commercial divisions.Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, ethics, and performance excellence.Implement succession planning, leadership development, and performance management.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE·        Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, ICT, or related field (MBA preferred).·        Proven CEO, MD, or senior executive experience in digital finance, financial markets, payments, or regulated institutions.·        Strong experience leading regulated platforms (banks, fintechs, exchanges, PSPs, asset managers).·        Deep understanding of financial regulation, digital-asset frameworks, payments ecosystems, and market infrastructure.·        Track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder ecosystem environments.·        Strong leadership, analytical ability, strategic thinking, and commercial acumen.·        Excellent stakeholder relations and public communication experience.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS·        In-depth knowledge of financial markets, digital payments, digital assets, and capital-market infrastructure.·        Strong regulatory knowledge (CBK, CMA, NIFCA, data privacy, cybersecurity).·        Negotiation and partnership-building with regulators, financial institutions, and technology partners.·        Strong risk management, AML/CFT, and compliance acumen.·        Executive leadership, communication, diplomacy, and board-level engagement.·        Data-driven decision-making and advanced analytical skillset.·        Product innovation mindset and technology fluency.PERFORMANCE METRICS (KPIs)1.   Ecosystem GrowthNumber of institutions and partners onboarded (banks, fintechs, PSPs, asset managers).Marketplace activity levels and digital-asset listings.Growth in transaction volumes and platform liquidity.2.   Financial PerformanceRevenue growth from exchange fees, licenses, and value-added services.Profitability ratios and cost-to-income improvements.Achievement of annual financial targets.3.   Regulatory ComplianceRegulator audit scores and adherence to licensing requirements.Zero major compliance breaches or sanctions.Strength of AML/CFT and cybersecurity framework.4.   Platform Reliability & InnovationSystem uptime, throughput, and transaction success rate.Number of new financial products, listings, or marketplace innovations launched.User satisfaction (CSAT/NPS) and platform trust metrics.5.   Market DevelopmentExpansion into new jurisdictions or market segments.Brand equity and visibility across digital finance ecosystems.6.   Leadership & CultureStaff engagement, retention, and leadership team performance.Execution of
