The organization is known for delivering operational excellence, managing complex capital projects, and driving performance improvements across multi-site and multi-unit operations in the energy sector.Job PurposeThe Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide operational leadership across multiple business units, driving execution discipline, commercial performance, and sustainable growth. The role demands a high-judgment, entrepreneurial executive capable of translating strategy into action, strengthening accountability, and delivering measurable results in complex, multi-site operations within the Nigerian operating environment.ScopeThe COO holds end-to-end responsibility for the company’s operations across business units in engineering, services, logistics, and infrastructure projects. This includes operations in fabrication & construction, onshore/offshore installation, operations & maintenance, asset integrity, marine services, logistics, and associated project environments.The role oversees:Multi-site operations with large teamsOperational performance, P&L outcomes, and budget accountabilityCompliance, risk management, and HSE standardsCross-functional execution, systems, and process integrityStrategy implementation and transformation programsCandidates must have demonstrable experience operating in complex corporate environments with multiple business units, strong familiarity with Nigerian commercial and regulatory realities, and the ability to lead on-ground operations effectively.Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily operations across all business units, ensuring execution discipline, operational efficiency, and performance accountability.Translate strategic priorities into actionable operational plans with KPIs, dashboards, and measurable milestones.Strengthen operational governance, risk management, compliance, and HSE frameworks.Deliver commercial outcomes through cost optimization, margin improvement, and revenue growth initiatives.Identify operational bottlenecks early and implement corrective measures decisively.Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, ensuring talent readiness and succession for critical roles.Collaborate with functional and operational leaders to align execution with strategic objectives.Represent the organization with professionalism in engagements with regulators, partners, and key stakeholders.Profile RequirementsMinimum 15–20 years senior leadership experience in Oil & Gas, Engineering, Industrial Services, or related sectors, including 5–8 years at C-suite or Executive level.Proven track record managing large-scale, multi-site operations with substantial complexity, budgets, and workforce size.Strong commercial acumen with P&L experience, revenue growth, cost optimization, and KPI delivery.Hands-on experience in operational risk management, asset integrity, project execution, and performance management.Demonstrated ability to navigate the Nigerian and West African regulatory and stakeholder environment.Visible leadership capability in challenging performance environments; able to motivate, build teams, and lead change.Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills across regulators, partners, and government entities.Ability to manage continuity, transition, and transformation while maintaining operational stability.Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred; engineering or technical background is an advantage.CompensationThe competitive package is competitive, aligned with industry standards.How to ApplyPlease submit your detailed CV and a cover letter (max 2 pages) highlighting two (2) examples where you led complex, multi-site operations and delivered measurable improvements in operational efficiency, cost optimization, and execution discipline to jobs@cranfieldtalent.comApplications will be treated in strict confidence.Closing date: 10th Dec. 2025
