Chief Operating Officer, Inland terminal

Job Purpose JOB DESCRIPTION Lead operations and development of the Freight Village inland terminal in Vorsino (Kaluga region), overseeing full management responsibilities to ensure operational excellence, commercial success, and alignment with DP World standards and strategic objectives in Central Asia.Key Accountabilities Operations ManagementManage all inland terminal operations (cargo handling, warehousing, transport interfaces, maintenance, etc.) to ensure efficiency, safety, and cost control.Establish and monitor key operational KPIs (throughput, turnaround time, productivity, downtime, etc.).Coordinate with logistics partners, freight forwarders, rail, and trucking companies for seamless operations.Implement best practices in asset utilization, yard management, and workforce productivity.Oversee the construction of a new inland terminal cross-docking facility. Commercial developmentExecute the Regional commercial strategy for terminal and warehouse utilization.Support business development efforts and client relationship management to industrial clients.Manage key customer relationships, negotiate service agreements, and ensure competitive positioning in logistics market.Implement annual operational budgets, forecasts, and business plans.Control operational expenditures while achieving performance and quality targets.Identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational optimization.Support business development efforts and client relationship management. Corporate governance, Compliance, Safety & SustainabilityEnsure full compliance with national regulations, company policies, and international standards.Establish effective internal controls, reporting, and audit readiness aligned with DP World’s global compliance framework.Ensure transparent and accurate reporting to shareholders, auditors, and state bodies.Lead safety and environmental management programs to maintain zero-harm operations.Promote sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives in terminal operation Stakeholder ManagementRepresent the terminal with government authorities, local communities, and regulatory bodies.Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and internal corporate teams.Maintain strong communication with the Regional office on progress, challenges, and opportunities.Qualifications, Skills And ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.10–15 years of experience in railway terminal, port, or large-scale logistics operations management. Sound understanding of rail and intermodal logistics, warehouse management, and customs processes.Proven track record in operational excellence, cost control, and team leadership.Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and compliance.Excellent communication skills in English and RussianStrong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.About UsTrade is the lifeblood of the global economy, creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for people around the world.
