What You Will DoWe’re looking for someone who is detailed-oriented, efficient, proactive, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.  As a Trust Officer, you will be responsible for the administration of trusts and companies across jurisdictions to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all trusts and companies administered are fully compliant with the Laws of Barbados and other applicable jurisdictions.
Manage the day-to-day administration of trusts, maintaining a thorough understanding of the Trust Deed and the trustee’s powers, duties, and responsibilities. Draft and prepare trustee minutes, resolutions, and amendments to trust deeds, as well as review and draft trust, corporate, and related legal documentation. Review beneficiary requests, prepare supporting documentation, and ensure compliance with the terms of the trust and internal policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date trust and corporate records in the firm’s database system, including the setup and closure of trust and company accounts on the bank’s accounting platform.
Ensure strict compliance with internal policies, procedures, and risk management guidelines. Communicate effectively with the Bank’s Client Services and Operations teams, as well as third-party providers in other jurisdictions, to support the efficient administration of trust and corporate structures. Conduct annual reviews of assigned trusts and companies, addressing all findings promptly and ensuring continuous compliance and good governance. Facilitate the proper establishment of trusts, companies, and other fiduciary vehicles on internal systems in accordance with best practices. Any other job-related duties as required. Qualifications & Skills: Professional Legal or Accounting designation. 3-5 years’ Trust experience.
STEP (TEP) or ICSA designation would be an asset. Experience working with investment products and services would be an asset. Understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to financial operations. Strong communication (verbal and written) skills. Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to build rapport quickly with internal and external clients. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Keen attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines. Demonstration of problem-solving skills.
