Our Civil and Environmental Engineering team in Newcastle is continuing to experience growth and as a result we are seeking an experienced civil drafter with experience across land development, built form and road networks. This position presents an opportunity for career growth and increased responsibility, where you will play a key role in various landmark urban renewal projects, as well as greenfield and infill land development projects.Our team delivers various types of technically challenging projects across NSW, focusing mainly within the Hunter, Central Coast and Sydney regions. As part of our growing team, your technical skills will be developed alongside your ability to effectively manage and communicate project requirements.What we’re looking for? We are looking for someone who wants to take control of their career and provide pathways for their team to operate successfully and achieve their career goals.In order to be successful in this role, you will also need to possess:Proven experience as a civil drafter within Engineering Consultancies, with a minimum of 3-6 years’ experience.Experience within the Built environment. or land development.Attending site reviews in person with clients.Relevant Tertiary Qualifications.The ability to manage multiple projects and goals at the same time, whilst working autonomously.Understanding of local and state government regulatory frameworks and statuary compliance requirements.Essential To Have Experience With AutoCAD.Experience with Civil 3D or 12D Model is highly desirable.Excellent communication skills – able to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly in managing external consultants.Creative problem-solving skills to continually finds ways to overcome challenges and obstacles.Strong team ethic to work collaboratively across functional groupDesign and delivery of hydrological and hydraulic (flood) reports.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects where you will take the lead on the design package of flooding elements.Technical review of hydrological and hydraulic models, resolve flood modelling issues that arise and provide solutions in a timely manner.Act as a mentor to junior members of the flooding team, providing guidance, training and feedback where necessary.What does working at Northrop look like to you?
