They are now delivering a large-scale transformation programme to build next-generation, AI-driven healthcare platforms — and are seeking a Principal AWS Cloud Architect to help shape that future.This role sits at the intersection of architecture, design, and delivery. You will define and implement secure, scalable, and compliant AWS environments that power life-changing applications. Acting as the senior AWS authority, you’ll combine deep technical design skills with strategic influence, guiding architecture decisions across engineering, security, and product teams.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Architecture & DesignLead the end-to-end architecture of AWS solutions across compute, storage, networking, and security domains.Design hybrid and multi-region environments that integrate seamlessly with on-premise and SaaS systems.Build modular, reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) blueprints using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.Evaluate and adopt emerging AWS services through structured proof-of-concepts.Ensure all architectural artefacts and design documentation remain current and consistent with enterprise standards.Reliability, Security & ComplianceArchitect systems for high availability, resilience, and observability using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and OpenSearch.Embed security-by-design principles through IAM, VPC segmentation, KMS encryption, and zero-trust networking.Design architectures compliant with HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2 frameworks, collaborating closely with internal compliance teams.Technical Leadership & StrategyAct as the AWS design authority, shaping platform standards and architectural best practice.Mentor engineers in architectural thinking, automation, and DevOps integration.Drive cost-efficient and performance-optimised design patterns across the AWS estate.Skills & Experience7+ years in cloud or infrastructure architecture with deep expertise in AWS Core Services (EC2, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFront, API Gateway, IAM).Proven experience designing large-scale, regulated workloads — healthcare exposure strongly preferred.Advanced IaC and automation experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK).Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (EKS/ECS), and event-driven or serverless design.Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7) is advantageous.
