Job Description

Space Forge is a fast-growing advanced materials company. Our goal is to exploit the extreme temperature, microgravity and ultra-high vacuum conditions available in low earth orbit (LEO) to manufacture materials that cannot readily be grown terrestrially. Returning these materials to earth, we aim to revolutionise the semiconductor market and to make space work for humanity. To achieve this, we have developed a range of technologies including the world's first returnable and reusable satellite platform, the ForgeStar®.We are looking for a Commercial Assistant to join our team. Space Forge will be launching multiple satellites over the coming years as well as developing multiple partners to continue to evolve our microgravity technology as a service offering. Therefore, we are seeking to develop the Commercial, Legal and Compliance Team to meet the developing needs of the business.What will you do?Working under the direction of the Head of Commercial, Legal, and Compliance supporting all functions within that department you will:Assist with commercial projects and company compliance work streamsEngage with internal stakeholders to ensure company compliance is followedSupport internal stakeholders with work streams related to Space Flight licensingKey ResponsibilitiesSupport the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts, NDAs, and supplier/customer agreementsBuild strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across the business to facilitate effective workingProvide commercial and contractual support to bids as requiredWhere required, work with the Procurement function to support the Procurement ManagerSupporting the Export Control and Trade Compliance functionWork under the direction of the Head of Commercial, Legal, & Commercial to provide support on other work streams as and when requiredRequirementsTechnical skills:Essential:Ability to interpret and apply compliance policies, standards, and legislative requirementsCompetent in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with regulators, suppliers, and internal stakeholdersExperience working in a commercial environmentDesirable:Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business Administration, Business Management, or similarFamiliarity with UK Export Control, GDPR, CAA, or Ofcom regulatory processesExperience liaising with regulatory authorities or public sector bodiesProficiency in contract lifecycle management systems, document control, and risk registersExperience of working within the Space and Defence Industry (ESA, UKSA, MOD)Soft Skills:Strong written and verbal communication, especially in conveying complex information and scenariosThe role requires an individual that is highly motivated and pro-active, with excellent attention to detailBenefitsWe believe in a future where our most polluting industries are moved off the planet, built for sustainability, and returned back to Earth for the benefit of all.
