Commercial Underwriter | Permanent | Dublin - Hybrid ( 2 days/ week on site)An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join a leading financial services provider that partners with a strong nationwide dealer network.This role is pivotal in supporting the continued growth of a well-established credit function and in managing key corporate lending relationships across both retail and wholesale portfolios.Reporting directly to the Head of Credit, the successful candidate will take ownership of underwriting responsibilities for credit line customers, including wholesale funding and leasing facilities.Our client is looking for a motivated individual with strong analytical capabilities, excellent commercial acumen, and a proven track record in corporate and SME credit underwriting.ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of retail, leasing, and wholesale corporate funding lines within a delegated authority.Prepare annual credit applications for corporate funding lines.Serve as a 1st vote for credit applications and present to internal credit committees and group-level stakeholders as needed.Ensure credit policy and procedures are consistently adhered to.Attend on-site customer meetings to support credit applicationsMonitor and report on dealer financial trends, escalating risks or issues to the appropriate internal teams.Collaborate across departments to deliver high-quality outcomes and identify new business opportunities.RequirementsThird-level qualification in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate or SME credit underwriting.QFA qualificationDeep understanding of corporate credit risk, regulation, and underwriting practices.Excellent financial analysis and risk assessment skills.High attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.Proficient in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel.
