Job Title: Construction Foreman – Filling station project Location: Various sites within Zambia1. Job Purpose* To supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities for the development of filling stations in accordance with engineering designs, safety standards, statutory regulations, and project timelines. * The Foreman ensures high-quality workmanship, effective team management, and compliance with the Energy Regulation Board (ERB), Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), and local authority requirements.2. Key Responsibilities* A. Site Supervision & ConstructionOversee day-to-day construction activities for filling station projects (civil works, structural works, tanks installation, piping, canopy construction, pump installation).* Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project plans.* Ensure proper excavation, tank installation, backfilling, concrete works, and pipeline laying according to standards.* Monitor subcontractor activities and ensure quality workmanship.B. Safety, Compliance & Regulations* Enforce strict adherence to ERB safety standards, ZEMA environmental regulations, and occupational health practices.* Conduct regular site safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and enforce PPE usage.* Ensure proper handling and installation of fuel storage tanks, pumps, and associated equipment.* Keep records of inspections, safety incidents, and compliance documents.C. Resource Management* Supervise skilled and unskilled workers, allocate duties, and monitor performance.* Manage site materials, tools, and equipment to avoid losses and ensure efficiency.* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.D. Quality Assurance* Inspect all works to ensure they meet project specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations.* Identify defects or non-compliance and coordinate corrective actions.* Liaise with quality inspectors, engineers, and client representatives.E. Coordination & Communication* Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and management to ensure smooth workflow.* Attend project meetings and provide updates on site progress and challenges.* Communicate anticipated delays, resource needs, and technical issues.3. Qualifications & Experience* Certificate or Diploma in Construction, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or related field.* 5+ years of experience in construction, including 2–3 years supervising filling station or petroleum infrastructure projects (preferred).* Knowledge of petroleum construction standards (tanks, piping, pumps, vapor recovery systems).* Familiarity with ERB, ZEMA, fire safety codes, and local authority building regulations.4. Skills & Competencies* Strong leadership and team-management skills.* Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documents.* Good understanding of civil, mechanical, and structural works in fuel facilities.* Strong communication and reporting skills.* Ability to solve on-site construction challenges quickly.* High level of integrity and safety consciousness.Send your cv to jobs@falanesolutions.com
