We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.As the HR Operations Generalist in Japan, you’ll be the go-to partner for employees and managers, ensuring HR processes run smoothly and compliantly. From onboarding to payroll, you’ll own key parts of the employee experience while aligning local practices with global standards. This role reports into the International HR Operations Lead and offers plenty of opportunities to build, improve, and simplify processes.This role is hybrid, based out of Tokyo, Japan.We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.Who You AreExperienced HR professional with 2–3+ years in HR operations or generalist roles in Japan.Fluent in Japanese (native level) and comfortable in business-level English.Organized and detail-driven, with a strong grasp of Japanese labor law and statutory benefits.Independent, proactive, and skilled at building trust across teams.What We NeedLead onboarding and offboarding for Japan, ensuring smooth processes and compliance.Manage benefits administration, payroll vendor coordination, and monthly payroll accuracy.Maintain employee data in HRIS systems while driving process improvements and automation.Serve as the main HR contact for employees in Japan, balancing compliance with a great employee experience.What You Will LearnHow to scale HR operations in a global, high-growth environment.Ways to streamline processes through automation and smarter use of HR systems.Best practices for aligning local labor requirements with global policies.Deeper expertise in cross-border collaboration with HR, legal, finance, and leadership teams.Tenstorrent offers a highly competitive compensation package and benefits, and we are an equal opportunity employer.This offer of employment is contingent upon the applicant being eligible to access U.S. export-controlled technology.
