Country Manager – Uganda and Rwanda

Job Title: Country Manager – Uganda and RwandaReporting to : CEOLocation: Kampala, Uganda (with responsibilities for Rwanda)Job Summary:We are seeking a proactive and experienced Country Manager to oversee our operations in Uganda and support business development in Rwanda. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the furniture fittings industry or possess extensive knowledge of furniture fittings and ironmongery. Based in Uganda, they will work independently to assist local distributors in developing the Ugandan market and actively pursue project opportunities. The candidate will also be responsible for driving business growth in Rwanda.Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand Hettich’s presence in Uganda and Rwanda.Support and guide local distributors in building and strengthening their market presence in Uganda.Identify, acquire, and manage project opportunities for the distributor to ensure consistent business growth.Develop new customer relationships and maintain existing key accounts within the furniture fittings industry.Collaborate with local partners to identify market needs, trends, and potential opportunities.Actively promote and develop the Rwanda market by establishing new business opportunities and relationships.Provide technical expertise and product knowledge related to furniture fittings and ironmongery.Manage sales activities, ensure timely project execution, and achieve revenue targets.Monitor market competition, industry developments, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies.Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs, and local networking platforms.Ideal Candidate Profile: Proven experience in the furniture fittings industry or sound knowledge of furniture fittings and ironmongery products.Extensive understanding of the furniture and interior markets, particularly in Uganda and Rwanda.Ability to work independently, take initiative, and influence market development.Strong network within the furniture, construction, and interior industry sectors in Uganda and Rwanda.Excellent project management, communication, and negotiation skills.Results-oriented with a strategic approach to market expansion.Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages or regional dialects is a plus.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Interior Design, Furniture Technology, or related fields.5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or project management within the furniture fittings or related sectors.Proven track record of expanding markets and managing distributor relationships in East Africa.
