Hours: Full-time, including out-of-hours and weekend work for duty rota and police station representationWaldrons Solicitors is looking for a dedicated and skilled Criminal Lawyer to join our Dudley office. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor, or someone who is almost qualified, to join our Duty Solicitor Rota. If you're newly qualified or nearly qualified and have a passion for criminal law, we would be happy to offer training and mentorship to help you succeed in the role.About The RoleAs a member of our Criminal Defence team, you will:Handle a diverse and challenging caseload of criminal defence mattersRepresent clients at police stations and magistrates' courtsProvide expert legal representation in court, including advocacy for bail applications, case management hearings, and trialsParticipate in the Duty Solicitor Rota, including out-of-hours and weekend workProvide clients with high-quality legal advice and support throughout their casesThe Ideal CandidateTo thrive in this role, we are looking for someone who:Is ideally a qualified solicitor with Duty Solicitor accreditation, or nearly qualified with experience in this sector and keen to gain this accreditationHas experience (or is eager to gain experience) in police station representation and court advocacyHas strong litigation skills and is confident advocating in courtCan work both independently and collaboratively within a teamIs passionate about delivering excellent client care and supportWhy Join us?With a heritage dating back to 1867, Waldrons is a firm proud of its roots and excited for its future.
