Customs & Trade Specialist

We are seeking a motivated Customs & Trade Specialist to join the newly established team of a leading international chemical company.This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in import/export operations and customs compliance within a truly global environment, while working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.Main responsibilities:Support daily import and export operations, including customs clearance and preparation/review of related documentationEnsure compliance with company policies as well as customs and trade regulations (tariff classification, origin determination, licensing requirements)Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and authorities to ensure smooth and timely shipmentsMaintain accurate trade and customs records in line with legal and internal requirementsMonitor updates in customs procedures and basic trade compliance regulations, escalating issues where necessaryCollaborate with internal stakeholders (logistics, procurement, finance) to resolve operational questions and ensure compliant processesSupport audits and internal reviews by providing documentation and data related to import/export activitiesRequired skills:Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, international trade, or related field (or equivalent experience2–3 years of experience in customs, import/export operations, or trade complianceFamiliarity with customs regulations, documentation, and compliance requirementsExperience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) is an advantageStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independentlyFluent in English (both written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
