Data Center - General Manager (Singapore-based)

Company Overview:Japan's leading global engineering, procurement and construction organisation is seeking a senior professional to lead its data centre business across Southeast Asia.The organisation is undergoing business expansion into the infrastructure sector in Southeast Asia.This is a leadership position overseeing both commercial expansion and the successful execution of large-scale EPC data centre projects. Position: General Manager - High-Tech Location: Singapore Industry: High-Tech Employment Type: Permanent The candidate should bring strong business development and EPC expertise in data centre development, design, and construction, combined with strong commercial acumen and the ability to build a scalable regional business. This individual will shape market strategy, secure new opportunities, and direct multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality mission-critical facilities. Key Responsibilities:Drive regional business growth, including market development, client engagement, and pipeline expansion in the data centre sector. Lead end-to-end EPC project execution for large-scale, mission-critical facilities across Southeast Asia.Provide expert oversight on data centre design, technical standards, constructability, and risk management.Shape commercial strategy, including bid leadership, proposal development, and contract negotiations.Establish governance, delivery frameworks, and operational processes for scalable business expansion.Collaborate closely with regional engineering hubs and cross-functional teams to ensure quality, cost, and schedule performance.Maintain strong relationships with data centre operators, real estate developers, hyperscalers, and key supply-chain partners.Represent the business at senior levels with clients, regulators, and strategic partners. Qualifications & ExperienceLeadership experience in EPC, design-build, or large-scale construction, ideally with mission-critical or data-centre project exposure.Proven track record in leading greenfield or large-scale industrial project deliveryStrong business development, commercial acumen and winning major projects in the Southeast Asia regionUnderstanding of data centre design principles, MEP/HVAC systems, power infrastructure, and commissioning processesExperience leading multicultural and cross-border engineering and project delivery teamsSkills in stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills with clientsTravel: Frequent within ASEAN and occasional to Japan for coordination and review
