Contribute to delivering on ASIC's purpose, vision, and strategic priorities to help maintain the integrity of the financial system and protect consumers from harm.ASIC's Data, Analytics, and AI Group is currently seeking a talented Data Quality (DQ) Analyst to join their high-performing team to maintain data accuracy, consistency and completeness across ASIC's business registries and Registry Connect Program.Sydney or Melbourne location 24 Month Fixed Term PositionSalary from $127,641 to $136,204 (depending on experience) + 15.4 % superannuationApplications will close at 11:59pm AEDT, Sunday 23 November 2025 The team The Data Governance team works collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to develop data policies, principles and standards to optimise the capture, share and use of data within ASIC. The team oversees a data governance program to protect ASIC's data assets and manage risk.The roleThe Data Quality (DQ) Analyst will ensure the integrity of ASIC's business registry data by assessing critical elements, defining business rules and maintaining metadata. This will include profiling, cleansing and analysing large datasets, applying statistical techniques to resolve anomalies and delivering stakeholder dashboards. The analyst will also be involved in assisting with developing standards and processes to strengthen ASIC's data quality framework.More Specifically, You WillAssess critical data elements within ASIC business registries in alignment with enterprise methodology.Collaborate with business SMEs to define and validate business definitions for critical data elements, review data lineage and maintain accurate metadata.Document business processes and data quality (DQ) rules for ASIC business registries in partnership with SMEs.Conduct root cause analysis, profiling, cleansing and detailed investigations to resolve data quality anomalies and recommend improvements.Apply advanced statistical and analytical techniques to large, complex datasets to evaluate data quality across key dimensions.Design and deliver data quality dashboards and visualisations for diverse stakeholder groups.Support the development and implementation of standards, policies and processes to ensure compliance with ASIC's data quality framework.About YouThe ideal candidate for the Data Quality Analyst role at ASIC will be a detail oriented data professional with proven expertise in data quality and governance. They will demonstrate strong capabilities in profiling, cleansing and analysing large datasets to ensure accuracy and integrity. Exceptional stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, combined with the ability to deliver actionable insights through dashboards and clear documentation will also be essential in this role.In Addition, You Will HaveTertiary qualifications in data science, statistics, information management, economics, engineering, computer science or a related discipline involving data manipulation and analysis.Demonstrated experience in data quality management, including root cause analysis, data profiling, discovery, manipulation, measurement and metric generation.Proven ability to work with complex datasets and implement end-to-end data quality processes.Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.Advanced data analysis skills across multiple tools and platforms, including Python, SQL, RStudio and Microsoft applications.Click ‘apply' to start your application.
