Role: Data Scientist – AI in Commercial BankingLocation: Remote within the UK, hybrid attendance only when requiredType: Contract (6 Months, Inside IR35)My client, a global IT services provider, is seeking a Data Scientist to support a high-impact AI initiative within a commercial banking environment. This role sits within a collaborative delivery team focused on advanced analytics and machine learning solutions that drive strategic insights and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesCollect, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from diverse sourcesPerform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends and anomaliesDesign and implement data pipelines in collaboration with data engineering teamsApply feature engineering and selection techniques to enhance model performanceBuild and validate ML models for prediction, classification, clustering, and optimizationUse libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch for supervised and unsupervised learningImplement NLP, time-series forecasting, and optimization algorithms as neededCollaborate with MLOps teams to deploy production-grade pipelinesCommunicate insights through dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or PythonEngage with stakeholders to define use cases and success metricsParticipate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the enterprise AI roadmapRequired SkillsProven experience in data science and machine learningStrong Python skills and familiarity with ML libraries (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn)Ability to translate complex model outputs into actionable business insightsExcellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiencesFamiliarity with Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaborationBackground in banking or financial services is a plusReady to make an impact in a high-profile AI project within the financial sector?
