Job Description

MicroHealth is seeking a hand-on Database Developer with expertise in SQL, DB2 and Linux. The Database Developer will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS while supporting the enterprise reporting and analytics environment. The ideal candidate will work with data architects to implement standard enterprise data models that align with healthcare industry’s best practices and ensure solutions are cloud-enabled.Responsibilities And DutiesManage and administer SQL Server databases in both Windows and Linux environmentsConfigure and maintain database servers and processes across multiple platformsImplement data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) developed by data architectsMonitor system health and performance using enterprise monitoring toolsEnsure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and securityAnalyze, solve, and correct issues in real timeProvide technical solutions and recommendations for database optimizationRefine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changesAssist developers with query tuning and schema refinementSupport data integration efforts to leverage new healthcare datasets through product capabilitiesClean and validate data for uniformity and accuracyImplement database solutions that support predictive modeling and analyticsCoordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomesProvide support for critical production systemsPerform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hoursAdminister Linux systems hosting SQL Server instancesImplement security best practices across database environmentsExperience with InfoSphere, including Quality Stage. Additionally, InfoSystem's IRIS, and Linux policy preferred. Qualifications and SkillsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred)Strong SQL Server Administration experience requiredStrong SQL Server Administration experience requiredExperience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL ServerExperience with Windows server, including Active DirectoryStrong Linux administration skills including shell scripting, permissions, and system managementExperience with SQL Server on Linux deploymentsKnowledge of database security best practicesHealth data experience is a mustExperience working with healthcare data models and structuresKnowledge of data mining techniques and implementing data architectureExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsSQL Server certifications preferredSalary- $110k-$120kMicroHealth is unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.
