Design Director - Data Centres

Design DirectorLocation: MelbourneThe Design Director will be responsible for driving the multidisciplinary MEP design strategy and execution for data centre projects across Australia. You will play a key role in shaping the design standards, ensuring innovation, efficiency, and technical excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee all aspects of MEP design for new and existing data centre developments.Lead a team of design managers, consultants, and external engineering partners.Act as the technical authority, reviewing and approving engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.Provide strategic input into project planning, cost control, and risk management.Engage with stakeholders including operations, construction, and commercial teams to ensure seamless project delivery.Experience:Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary design within mission-critical or data centre environments.Proven ability to manage complex MEP design processes, from concept through delivery.Strong knowledge of local Australian codes and standards.Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.A passion for innovation, problem-solving, and driving engineering excellence.If you are a strategic leader with a strong technical background and a passion for delivering excellence in data centre design, we’d love to hear from you.
