Starts at 60 is Australia's largest digital media platform for over-60s, with over 260,000 monthly readers, 110,000 + newsletter subscribers, and an extensive Facebook community.Alongside daily news and media offerings, the company oversees two online travel agencies: Travel at 60 (local) and Travel Central (off-shore).As part of our next growth phase, we're seeking a smart, capable, and commercially savvy Digital Marketing Specialist to oversee and execute marketing across the Starts at 60 Group. The role has a very strong emphasis on growing the two travel brands, with the daily priority of driving high-value holiday enquiries to our call centres.We're looking for an efficient, creative marketing mind who can own and manage our travel sector, with the opportunity to move into a Group Management role across our media and travel brands as the team expands further.Key Roles Include:Planning, building and sending daily newsletters of travel deals in close collaboration with Travel at 60 stakeholders.Creating and overseeing social media promotions (both organic and paid) for our travel brands.Graphic design and copy editing on new travel product listings, along with creative marketing copy for associated promotions.Keeping the Travel at 60 and Travel Central websites up to date with new campaigns and offerings.Growing newsletter subscribers for our media and travel brands through organic and paid social advertising.Proactively exploring new growth strategies in collaboration with the CEO.The PositionOwn and implement the marketing strategy for Travel at 60, Starts at 60 and Travel Central. You'll work at the intersection of content, audience, and commercial outcomes amplifying storytelling that resonates deeply with our unique demographic.ResponsibilitiesNewsletter & Social Channel MarketingManage daily travel newsletter operations (EDM strategy, segmentation, CTOR optimisation).Essential experience with email marketing platforms is required for daily newsletter management.Optimise Facebook pages and groups with content that can engage and convert.Coordinate paid social campaigns to drive holiday leads and newsletter subscriptionsModeration of travel-themed Facebook groups.Liaise regularly with Travel at 60 and Travel Central teams to ensure marketing and sales priorities align.Audience Growth & Website PerformanceGrow our newsletter databases through organic and paid advertising.Develop, implement and monitor SEO/SEM strategies to grow organic and paid reach.Maintain both travel websites to showcase new products and sales.Branded Content & Campaign ExecutionCollaborate with the Starts at 60 Sales and Travel at 60 Product teams to oversee co-op marketing campaigns from travel sponsors as needed.Creative Copy & Graphic DesignCopy edit and improve travel product listings on the Travel at 60 and Travel Central websitesDesign compelling ads that can drive holiday enquiries.Train Product Team members (both Brisbane- and Philippines-based) in best marketing practices.Stakeholder CollaborationSupport the CEO and senior leadership team with campaign performance insights, data dashboards, and client reporting.Contribute to the evolution of our media product suite.Help shape future campaign packages, e.g. masterclasses, native series, video executions.Work cross-functionally with the Editorial, Travel & Services Marketing, and Sales Teams.What You'll Bring5+ years' experience in digital marketing (publisher or content-led business preferred), with experience in the travel sector highly valued.Great writing, communication and graphic design skills, with a keen sense of commercial tone and messageA keen instinct for what "creative" looks like in the travel sector.Experience with SEO/SEM (Google), and audience analytics (GA4, Meta Business Suite)Proven ability to manage branded content campaigns and multiple stakeholdersA strategic, results-oriented mindset, able to execute within a lean and agile teamAn understanding of media trading metrics (CPM, CTR, dwell time)Nice to HaveExperience and knowledge of AI performance toolsVideo editing and live-stream content marketing experienceFamiliarity with programmatic advertising principles and platformsLots to LoveMake an impact in a high-growth, purpose-led digital publisherWork with a vibrant, engaged audience who trusts the platformFlexible working conditions (for the right candidate)Lead your area end-to-end while collaborating with a passionate, supportive teamApply TodayIf you're ready to shape a meaningful brand that serves a generation with depth, dignity and energy, we'd love to hear from you.
