Retail Banking plays a crucial role in executing the International Wealth and Premier Banking strategy, providing strategic advice, frameworks and guidance to markets, that ensure all customer journeys, products and services are sustainable, inclusive and built with customers at the heart. Retail Banking brings together a united retail business, made up of the following global teams: Segments, Retail Products, Shared Services Contact Centre, Distribution and Enablers spanning Customer Experience, Marketing, Data and Analytics, Business Architecture, Sustainability and Inclusion for International Wealth and Premier Banking.Digital Platform manages two main assets within IWPB: the Online Banking platform and the Mobile Application platform. Within HSBC, there are specific value streams that manages the different business segments. Accordingly, the digital platform managers are assigned as leads to the specific value streams on a fixed term basis and this can change and rotate based on consensus to load balance the resources. We expect Digital Platform managers are agile and adaptable to undertake the various rotations.The Various Value Streams Roles Are As FollowWealthAccountsLendingMessagingInsuranceGovernance and Compliance including Regulatory ReportSecurityIncident Management, release management and business contingency plan (BCP)PaymentsPrincipal ResponsibilitiesThe jobholder will be responsible to manage two key areas: “Change the Bank (CTB)” projects and “Run the Bank (RTB)” projects. CTB projects typically involve major changes as compared to the current system or processes. Some examples are implementing a new product, migrating the digital platform to a new platform, introducing a new way for customers to log onto our digital platform, new way to on-board customers or an industry driven projects such as Open Financing.In CTB projects, when the project is driven by Digital Channel, the Digital Platform manager will act as the lead or driver to the project, working closely with the project manager, business analyst, risk stewards and frontliners to deliver the solution within expectations such as budget and time. He makes sure that while delivering the solutions, the interest of iWPB and the Bank as a whole are safeguarded. For example, he needs to ensure we are always aligned to Central Bank’s requirements, follow the HSBC strategic solutions and MYH iWPB business objectives. He makes sure where there is fraud risk, the relevant teams are involve and fraud exposures are mitigated and managed within risk appetite. In CTB projects, when the project is assisted by Digital Channel, the Digital Platform manager will provide insights, advises and support to enable these new features to be made available to our customers through the Digital Platforms. He typically works closely with Product or Wealth team to deliver the new products or features.In RTB tasks, on-going responsibilities are assigned to the job holders. The Jobholder is to ensure that the tasks are completed accurately, on time and to the quality expected of a manager. Some examples of RTB tasks are processing monthly invoices to vendors, conduct site visits of outsourced vendors, submitting on-going reports to regulator, prepare monthly forum slides etc.It is part of the jobholder to perform on-going “Health Check” whenever there are any releases onto the digital platforms. Typically, these are conducted in the early mornings. Jobholder is expected to test the changes and validate that the system is good to be released.
