Business Development Director (Behavioral Health – PHP/IOP)Location: Charlotte / Lake Norman, NC Employment Type: Full-time Industries: Mental Health Care · Hospital & Health Care · Health, Wellness & FitnessAbout UsWe’re a new, mission-driven behavioral health organization launching a premium Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program for adults in the Charlotte–Lake Norman region.Our approach combines clinical excellence, compassionate care, and a modern treatment environment that helps clients build sustainable recovery. We’re building a brand that stands for trust, ethics, and results — and we’re looking for a Business Development Director who shares that vision.The OpportunityAs an early hire, you’ll be instrumental in helping us launch and grow our first location. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who understands how to build referral relationships, drive admissions, and grow census — all while representing a brand built on integrity and heart.We’re specifically seeking candidates who already have local behavioral health experience and established referral relationships across the Charlotte area (detox centers, hospitals, clinicians, EAPs, and case managers).What You’ll DoBuild, manage, and expand referral partnerships with:Detox and residential treatment centers (step-down referrals)Hospital social workers and case managersPrivate practice therapists, psychiatrists, and group practicesEAPs, employers, and community organizationsDevelop and execute outreach strategies that drive consistent census growth.Attend community and professional events to increase program visibility.Partner with leadership on marketing campaigns, content, and local branding.Track outreach activities, conversion metrics, and ROI using CRM tools.Collaborate with admissions and clinical teams to ensure a seamless intake process.Provide market intelligence to help guide strategic decisions.What We’re Looking For3–5+ years of experience in business development, outreach, or admissions within behavioral health, SUD treatment, or mental health PHP/IOP settings.Existing network of referral partners in the Charlotte and surrounding markets.Proven success meeting or exceeding census or growth goals.Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to thrive in a startup environment.Bachelor’s degree preferred (Marketing, Healthcare, Psychology, or related field).What We OfferOpportunity to help build a new program from the ground up.Mission-driven leadership that values authenticity, innovation, and purpose.Competitive base compensation plus performance-based incentives.Collaborative, growth-oriented culture with direct access to executive leadership.Ready to Build Something Meaningful?If you’re passionate about helping people find recovery and want to be part of a team shaping the next generation of outpatient treatment in Charlotte, we’d love to hear from you.
