We're a leading Midwest-based recruiting firm partnering with a prominent, publicly traded industrial company on a critical search for a Director of Communications. This is a highly visible role that will serve as the "voice" of the organization and lead all internal and external communications efforts.This role offers the autonomy to build and lead a communications team from the ground up, establishing KPIs and a multi-channel strategy that directly impacts the company's brand and public perception. As the company spokesperson, you'll manage media relations and guide executive leadership's thought-leadership platforms, positioning them as innovators in the industry. Your work will directly support corporate vision, long-term strategy, and business goals, making this an opportunity for a leader who wants to make a lasting, tangible impact.You'll join a dynamic and collaborative team in an on-site role based in the Indianapolis area, while splitting time in the Lafayette area. You'll be using tools such as Microsoft Viva, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suites, and various social media platforms to execute your vision. The work is fast-paced and requires a leader who can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.As the Director of Communications, core responsibilities include:Strategy & Leadership: Establishing and driving a multi-channel communications strategy for both internal and external audiences. You'll lead and mentor a diversely skilled communications team to implement your vision.Media & Public Relations: Serving as the company spokesperson, managing media relations, and securing high-impact media coverage in top-tier publications. You'll also be responsible for developing a robust crisis communications plan.Content & Messaging: Overseeing all content creation, from executive speeches and investor messaging to social media posts, press releases, and the annual Corporate Responsibility Report. You'll ensure a consistent brand voice across all platforms.Performance & Analytics: Establishing and tracking KPIs to measure engagement and performance across all communications platforms.We're looking for a seasoned communications leader with a proven track record.
