Role Overview:We are looking for a Director of Quality & Reliability, you will be responsible for providing leadership across Aeva and its suppliers to ensure processes and actions are in place to drive for zero defects for components and products, as well as ensure that our products meet all Aeva and customer reliability targets. This role reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain.What you’ll do:The individual will lead a team of Product, Software, and Supplier Quality Engineers to maintain a robust, end-to- end quality system as well as drive continuous improvements in the quality of components, products, and services within the supply baseYou will also lead a team of reliability engineers to conduct reliability and quality assurance testing to ensure products meet performance standards and customer expectationsDeep understanding of automotive quality standards and methodologiesThis role requires deep technical expertise, cross functional leadership, and the ability to operate in a dynamic, complex environmentManaging Aeva’s compliance with relevant ISO standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while ensuring the supply base is in compliance as wellCoordinate and prepare for internal customer and regulatory audits Serve as a liaison with customers and suppliers on quality related manners What You'll Need10+ years of experience working as a supplier quality engineer in a fast-paced industry with a global supply base producing precision mechanical and optical componentsBS in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience5+ years of hands-on experience using CMM and OMM inspection equipment and PC-DMIS programming experienceDeep understanding of problem solving tools including design of experiments, root cause analysis and statistical analytical tools (e.g. JMP)Demonstrated experience in supplier quality management and support including APQP, PPAP, 8D, etcRobust understanding of 2D drawings and GD&TExperience with CAD tools (Solidworks knowledge is a plus)Experience with ISO and Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) standardsAdvanced ability to communicate effectively and with impact across all levels from the front line to CEO and CTOAbility to travel internationally up to 20% of the timeSalary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges are subject to change in the future. Depending on the position offered, equity, bonus, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, pre-tax commuter and health care/dependent care accounts, 401k plan, life and disability benefits, flexible time off, paid parental leave, and 11 paid holidays annually.
