Director of Research Studies

Job Summary:The Director of the Research Studies will be responsible for supervising and monitoring research efforts to support spatial and urban development, through developing qualitative studies and research initiatives that address the needs of Al-Ahsa Governorate and contribute to improving decision-making and enhancing planning efficiency.Main Responsibilities:Supervising the preparation of research project proposals in development sectors, identifying their requirements, and the roles and responsibilities of the relevant parties.Lead the understanding of the needs of Al-Ahsa Governorate and its cities regarding research studies, following up on linking them with local development priorities, and ensuring the implementation of clear visions according to strategic directions.Oversee the preparation of research initiatives focusing on developmental opportunities and challenges in Al-Ahsa Governorate.Reviewing periodic reports on the status of projects, focusing on challenges, opportunities, and recommendations for improvement.Manage the provision of technical and administrative guidance to the team and ensuring the necessary support is available to guarantee efficient implementation.Supervising the development of research and analysis tools and guiding teams in using modern technologies and innovations in the research field.Providing benchmark comparative studies and summarizing lessons learned and possible solutions.Coordinating with and making use of research centers and institutes to come up with the best solutions.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree (Urban or City Planning / Engineering / Architecture and Planning) or its equivalent.Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, experience in managing multidisciplinary research programs and teams.Strong knowledge of research governance, ethics, and compliance frameworks.Certificates: PMP, CPRA, PMI-PgMP, or equivalent professional certifications are advantage.
